I want to thank the readers who keep coming back and giving this site hits, even when we've been away for so long. I've been watching your efforts, and you've kept this site alive even when I've been unable to.
There is an exciting new development in Washington, which is why I am writing to you now. It's called the American Anti-Corruption Act, and it's being written and submitted by citizens like you and I. It's gained the support of some generous donors whose moral compass has led them to spend money in order to eliminate money's power in politics. It is rapidly gaining the attention of America's people.
The act directly outlaws lobbyist bribery and "secret money" organizations, and directly addresses official corruption. It stands against Citizens United by re-introducing caps on money in politics. It is the first piece of legislation we hope to pass as part of the effort to take America back from wealthy power holders and give it back to the mass of the American public.
Anyone in the United States can be listed as a Citizen Co-Sponsor of the bill as we submit it to Congress. All you need to do is follow this link.
For those of you in Washington, D.C., I also encourage you to take part in the Money Runs Washington sprint down K Street. Follow this link for more information on that.
I hope to see your names on these lists!
Warmly, Matthew Bishop Founder and CEO
