We've just re-launched the new company and we are in real need of your support. We deeply appreciate everything you can give, even the smallest gift.
Current donations are going to meet very basic operational and administrative expenses, without which we cannot continue our work.
Thank very sincerely, The Staff and Board at World Report News
My name is Matt, and mainstream media makes me sick. Advertisers have seniority over editors. Profits take priority over real information and those difficult-to-ask questions that we need to ask in order to move forward. The trivial or trendy becomes sensationalized and the serious problems go overlooked. This problem is even more acute in international affairs than it is in domestic affairs. So I want to change that, and I want you to help me.
I've spent years studying how to make world news media better, and I also spent time running world news organizations, seeing what works and what doesn't, to get a better sense of things. What I found is that there is an extraordinarily huge market of people looking for the kind of news I put out there-- everywhere I looked we had an audience waiting for us. People are discontent with their media providers, and they need a new service-- they need a public service, which is what news should be. That's what we want to make it.
But they don't just need PBS-- they need a public service that brings people together from all around the world, people who can talk about the real problems leading to war and conflict, people who sometimes don't understand each other. And those people need to connect with ordinary Americans, who want a deeper level of information not given to them by mass media channels. Americans need to understand that conflict isn't binary, it isn't black and white, it can't be summed up in a brief article that fits neatly on the side column of page A6. We want to give real information to Americans, and we want to give a forum where people around the world can talk about the problems they're most concerned about.
So that's who we are and what we care about. And we can't get there unless we have your support.
I encourage you to check out the PDFs in the About section if you want more information or are thinking of making a very large gift. I hope you'll support us in this endeavor and that I'll get the chance to talk to you soon.
Warm Regards, Matt
